Know Your Bra Size?

Without officially setting a goal to practice what I preach, 2012 has become a year where I am striving to stand behind my words and do what I tell my clients to do.  One thing I tell almost every new woman client is, “Get fitted for a bra.”  Wearing the correct bra size can subtract 10 pounds from your frame.  When your “girls” are lifted to their correct height (about halfway between your shoulder and your elbow), you suddenly discover a waist you didn’t know you have and you are on your way to creating the illusion of having an hourglass frame (the supposed “perfect” shape).

After observing one of my clients getting fitted for a new bra at Nordstrom Northpark by Allstar Nordstrom Employee, Candi Adams, I determined I would return and treat myself to a fitting and a new bra or two.  Have you heard approximately 75% of women are wearing the wrong bra size?  Well, I must confess I was in that 75%.  Many things contribute to a change in bra size including weight loss and gain, but in my case I deduce my bra size changed because I had twins 16 months ago.  Candi made the process quick and easy.  She had me try on a bra for size, then she measured my band width and scoured the floor for a collection of gorgeous bras in my size (which happens to be hard to find, lucky me).

In under 30 minutes I was done and walking out of the store with three gorgeous new bras in the correct size.  My “girls” have never looked better, and I feel great about how I look wearing the right size.  So, don’t put it off any longer, ladies.  If it has been more than a couple of years since your last fitting, go see Candi at Nordstrom Northpark, and tell her I sent you.  She is truly an expert bra fitter, and you will be amazed at the difference wearing the right bra size makes in how your clothes look and feel on you.

Here are a few websites that may be of interest.  The first website is for your larger chested ladies: http://www.biggerbras.com/, although this site carries bras for the smaller chested gals, too.  Another site for you smaller women: http://www.lulalu.com/  Lastly, here is a website for you gals with a skin tone that does not fall in the range of the flesh tones you find in the stores: http://www.myskins.com/

Happy bra shopping!
